Although summer weddings tend to steal the lime light when it comes to marriage ceremonies, winter weddings are equally as beautiful, memorable and special for everyone who attends them. Although the weather may be totally unpredictable and you may need to wrap up a little more, a winter wedding is a stunning affair with a lot of potential and ideas to work with. From practical needs to wonderful winter designs, here’s our tips on how to plan an unforgettable winter wedding.

Our first tip – wrap up warm! The winter seasons can get frosty, and there’s nothing worse than everyone feeling the chill on your wedding day. Just because you need to be practical, however, doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t look the part. Adding a faux fur or fluffy wrap to your wedding dress and/or to your bridesmaid’s outfits is a stunning way to keep cosy whilst looking good.

Your wedding cake is a staple piece at your wedding reception, there’s no doubt about it. But why not embrace the aesthetic of the frosty season and incorporate it into your cake design? A stunning but effective way to achieve this is by asking your wedding cake designer for a semi-naked cake with white frosting. The result is frosty, wintry design which echoes the cold winter days throughout the seasonal months. Another great addition to your winter wedding is a quaintly placed hot chocolate stand, giving your guests a warm choice of beverage if you’re having your reception outdoors in a marquee.

Another way to incorporate the season into your wedding is to get creative with your table design and bring the outdoors into your reception. Although the elements are naturally dominant and harsh during the winter season, there are definitely some beautiful qualities to draw from the outdoors. These natural designs and earthy pieces of decor make for stunning attention to detail and really incorporate the winter elements in the design of your wedding.
