Our Top 10 Summer Flowers

In this week’s Blog, we are talking about our top 10 Summer Flowers. These are all flowers our customers have been loving, and ones we love to have stocked in our Marlow Shop and our Bourne End Shop.

  1. Delphiniums

Delphiniums are native throughout the Northern Hemisphere and also on the high mountains of tropical Africa. They last 5-7 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Our florists love incorporating them into summer bouquets to add depth and length. They aren’t very strong in scent, and the scent they have can be described as clean. We especially love sky blue and dark blue Delphiniums, as you can see below.микрозаймы через интернет

2. Sunflowers

Sunflowers are native to North America and Central America. They last 5-10 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Sunflowers don’t have a distinct floral scent, so are great for people who don’t like the scent of flowers. Our customers love sunflowers whether they’re on their own in a bunch, incorporated into a summer bouquet, or simply made into a bouquet adding complimentary foliage. 3. Sweet Peas

Sweet Peas are native to Sicily, southern Italy and the Aegean Islands. These flowers last 4-7 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Grandiflora sweet peas tend to be strongly scented. They’re a great edition to a summer bouquet to add colour, scent and length. Here are some sweet peas we had in our Marlow Shop this week.

4. Lilies

Lilies are found in Europe, North America and most commonly Asia. These grand flowers last 7-10 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Lilies are known to be strongly fragrant, they emit a beautiful perfume like scent. Our florists love including lilies in our striking arrangements and grand bouquets. We include them in our arrangements for local companies who buy our flowers weekly for their shops or restaurants, below we have some in The Ivy in Marlow, Harringtons Hairdressers in Marlow, and The Bar and Grill in Marlow.

5. Roses

Garden roses, avalanche roses, spray roses, rose samoa, these are just a few we have stocked at our Shops… We love all species of rose! Roses were originally native to China but are now grown all over the world. Roses are well known for their strong scent, making any home smell beautiful. Roses last 7-10 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. If you’re local, we sell wrapped bunches of roses ready to buy in our Marlow and Bourne End Shops. Our florists also love to include roses we have in on the day, in any customer bouquets they create. 6. Ranunculus

Ranunculus are common throughout Britain, Ireland and most of mainland Europe. They are also present in many other parts of the world as an introduced and widely naturalised species. Ranunculus last 5-7 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Ranunculus flowers are perfect for anyone sensitive to scent or anyone who has allergies, as they have little to no scent. From time to time we have Ranunculus bunches available wrapped and ready to buy at our Shops in Buckinghamshire. We love including these in Summer bouquets as they’re beautiful, versatile, and come in many colour varieties. Here are some examples of the Ranunculus we’ve had in.

7. Tanacetum

Tanacetum, also known as feverfew, is part of the Daisy family, it is native to many regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Tanacetum lasts around 7 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Tannacetum have a strong scent. Our florists love incorporating this flower into summer bouquets for extra texture and depth, whether the bouquets are colourful, or more natural, this always looks great! 8. Peonies

We could not list our ‘Top 10 Summer Flowers’ without the beloved peonies – loved by everyone! Peonies are native to Asia, Europe and Western North America. Peonies last 5-7 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Peonies have a beautiful sweet scent, and they all differ with how strong the scent is – some can be smelt at a distance, while with others, you have to go close to the bloom to smell. Peonies are beautiful on their own, or incorporated into a summer hand-tied bouquet. Here are some examples of the flowers we’ve had in -pale pink peonies, white peonies and a vibrant dark pink variant.

9. Gerberas

Gerberas are native to tropical regions of South America, Africa and Asia. They last 5-9 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. If you have hay-fever, Gerberas are perfect for you as they actually have no scent. There are too many shades and species of Gerberas to count which make them the most versatile flower for our Florist shop to have. Sold alone in bunches or incorporated in bouquets all year round, Gerberas can always add extra colour and texture to any bouquet.

10. Hydrangeas

Last, and definitely not least, we have hydrangeas. In the Summer months, these flowers become an extremely popular flower to have in your home, trending at the moment are sky blue hydrangeas. They’re native to Asia and the Americas, and the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, China, Korea, and Japan. Hydrangeas last 5-7 days in a vase, depending on how well they’re kept and the environment they’re kept in. Hydrangeas are gorgeous on their own, hand tied with complimentary foliage, or incorporated into Summer bouquets. Because of the large blooms, they add a striking statement!
