It’s never an easy transition from Summer to Autumn when it comes to this time of year. For most September reminds us of getting back to work, university or school, so if you’re a person who enjoys the warmer months, Autumn is probably not a welcome change. But if you’re counting down the days to warm coats, toffee apples and pumpkin carving, September is definitely an exciting time of year. With the leaves beginning to change, we have a few top tips on how to enjoy the season before the weather takes a colder turn.
Take a picnic! As it’s still September, temperatures are still settled around 16 degrees. Although it’s not exactly tropical weather, it’s certainly not too cold to take a wrapped up picnic in the countryside. Get yourself and old blanket, a warm flask of hot chocolate or a savory soup, and get out into nature for a chilly picnic. If the area permits it, you could even get a small fire going (if it really is cold!) otherwise wrap up warm in a scarf, gloves and thick coat. If you fancy something a little stronger, why not take a sturdy pan to warm up hot cider to share with whoever you would love to have your picnic with.
